We tested the Kia Niro HEV: a practical and efficient crossover

The first generation of the Kia Niro was a commercial success and this second one is on its way to being the same. The design change, both exterior and interior, has been radical and the jump in perceived quality very notable. Regarding the range of engines, Kia has maintained its triple commitment, offering a hybrid version, a plug-in hybrid and a 100% electric one.

The starting price of Be Niro hybrid, which is the version we have had the opportunity to test, is much cheaper, something that will make it a more attractive product for many buyers. It is somewhat less powerful than the plug-in hybrid and does not have the Zero Emissions label, but it is lighter and its trunk offers more capacity.

The 141 HP hybrid system moves the unit with ease and offers very tight fuel consumption, this being one of the great virtues of the model.
