The ‘Mone’ will receive this coming Sunday, March 6, at Oliva Sports Club at the Municipal Football Stadium. The eighteenth round of the league will pit both teams starting at 12 noon in what the local club has described as a “great game” to mobilize the fans.
And what happens in the five games left until the end of the league It will be crucial for the future of CP Monesterio. This has been expressed by the team itself on its official social media profiles, which trusts that the dangerous situation in which it finds itself can be reversed in the “finals that remain to end the season.”
The yellows face this Sunday’s match, after a weekend without competition due to the Carnival break. The last match played took them to the Pedro José de Torremejía, where they lost by five goals to four.
Now, the focus is on CP Oliva, a group that occupies the temperate zone of the classification, in sixth place, and with whom ‘Mone’ already competed on their boards last November. The 1-1 draw then left the door open waiting for what happens this weekend.
Classification and permanence
At this point in the league, CP Monesterio occupies the eleventh position in the group ranking IV of the First Extremadura Division. With eleven points, they are the penultimate classified, only ahead of Club Atlético Torremejía. A position that puts the permanence of the team in check. For this reason, the team affirms that the squad is going to “give everything to achieve the goal” and stay in the category that cost so much to reach.
Even so, CP Monesterio would not suffer direct relegation to remain in the position he now occupies. The regulation establishes that only the last classified from each low category regular phase group. The eighth, ninth, tenth and eleventh teams of each group of the Primera Extremadura must play three qualifying rounds that will resolve which teams remain and which are relegated. Everything indicates that this will be the situation that the yellow club will have to face.
