On the morning of last Sunday, September 24, the Monesterio Sports Club managed to score its first point of the season at the Municipal Stadium of the San Serván Sports Club, in the town of Arroyo de San Serván. They did so after achieving a 1-1 draw, in a match marked by controversy and referee sanctions.
The match, which started at twelve in the morning, scored a goal just a few minutes after kickoff. In the third minute, a corner in favor of the Arroyanos ended up putting the ball into the yellow goal thanks to the captain of the local team, Alejandro Moreno.
With the score 1-0, the game continued, not without a lack of chances on the part of both teams, which in no case materialized. It was not until the 83rd minute when a penalty awarded by the referee after a foul on yellow player Raúl Contreras tied the score at one. Dailer was in charge of scoring the goal, which not only served to open the team’s scoring, but also to inaugurate the yellow box this season, in goals and points.
The numerous warnings given by the referee to players from both teams stood out in the match. The yellows, Álvaro Naranjo, and the scorer himself, Dailer, were sent off in the second half for a double yellow, in the 70th and 83rd minutes, respectively. The behavior of some local fans forced the referee to request Civil Guard agents on the soccer field, an attitude that CP Monesterio “strongly” condemns.
This second league day is a “suffering point” that makes ‘Mone’ continue with its journey in the Extremadura First Division with “humility, work and teamwork”, keys, according to the club, to achieve its objectives .
Classification
With two games played, CP Monesterio currently occupies eleventh position in the Group IV ranking. They are equal on points with CD Usagre, EMD Aceuchal, Higuera CF and Sport Club La Garrovilla. Only CP Oliva, which does not add any points, is below the yellows.
